Asbestos Abatement – Natick, MA US Army Base

Asbestos abatement was a significant component of the project. Asbestos is a hazardous material that requires specialized handling to ensure safety and compliance with federal and state regulations. For this project, we targeted two primary areas: asbestos-containing floor tiles & mastic and wall panels.

Asbestos Abatement Details:

  • Submission of ANF-001 Form: Following our award notification, we promptly submitted the requisite ten-day asbestos notification form (ANF-001) to the MA DEP.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Our team adhered to all local, state, and federal regulations throughout the abatement activities.
  • Removal and Disposal: We meticulously removed approximately 2,700 square feet of asbestos-containing floor tile & mastic and 2,250 square feet of asbestos-containing wall panels.

Proper handling and disposal of asbestos-containing materials are crucial for environmental safety. Our team ensured that all generated asbestos waste was appropriately packaged, labeled, manifested, transported, and disposed of at certified locations.

Selective Demolition for Structural Safety and New Installations

Selective demolition involves strategically removing specific building components, thus facilitating future structural installations and renovations. At the US Army Base in Natick, we performed various selective demolition tasks with expert precision and safety.

Selective Demolition Details:

  • Removal of Building Components: We carefully removed existing doors, frames, hardware, interior walls, cubicle partitions, chain-link fences, AT tile and grid ceilings, metal roof sections, steel columns, and beams. Additionally, we saw-cut and removed the existing concrete slab to prepare for new footing installations.
  • Safe Disposal: Each removed component was carted and disposed of following environmental and structural standards.
  • Future Proofing: These selective demolitions were crucial for installing new HVAC systems, MEPs (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and ensuring future expansion aligns with specified requirements.

Our team’s precision in selective demolition ensures that the structural integrity of the remaining areas is maintained while preparing specific sites for new installations.
