James Murphy joined Banner Environmental two months ago as the Business Development Manager, bringing a wealth of experience in real estate, architecture, and janitorial services to his role. His primary focus is identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across key sectors such as healthcare, education, construction, and residential. Working closely with clients, James ensures that every asbestos abatement and selective demolition project is tailored to meet their needs. In addition to cultivating new relationships, he collaborates internally with the Banner team to ensure seamless project execution. His role also requires him to stay updated on industry trends and regulations, ensuring that Banner continues to provide top-tier service and support.
What excites James most about working at Banner is the industry’s fast-paced nature and the various projects he encounters daily. No two days are the same, and each job presents unique challenges that keep him engaged. He also enjoys how his work takes him all over New England, allowing him to visit various facilities and interact with a diverse range of people. One of the toughest challenges he’s faced has been mastering the various methods of asbestos abatement across different property types. However, by leveraging his diverse background and the support of his colleagues, he has been able to navigate these complexities and deliver successful outcomes for both clients and the business.
James is a dedicated family man outside of work and considers his family his greatest accomplishment. He and his wife are raising two daughters, whom he describes as smart, funny, and kind—qualities that bring him immense pride. James enjoys being outdoors in his free time, whether hiking, skiing, golfing, or walking his dogs. Looking ahead, travel is a top priority on his bucket list. He hopes to ski out west next year and has set his sights on visiting all seven continents, with Europe and Japan at the top of his list. With his drive, adaptability, and passion for learning, James is an invaluable addition to the Banner Environmental team.
