Banner Environmental Services is seeking reliable General Laborers to support our selective demolition, cleaning, and mold remediation operations on commercial, educational, healthcare, municipal, and residential projects throughout New England. The ideal candidate will perform various manual tasks under supervision while maintaining strict safety standards and supporting specialized crews. This position offers an excellent entry point into the environmental services industry with opportunities to develop skills and advance within our growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform selective demolition tasks including removal of non-load bearing walls, flooring, ceiling tiles, and fixtures
- Support mold remediation crews with containment setup, material removal, and cleaning procedures
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and debris removal activities
- Load and transport materials, equipment, and waste to designated areas
- Set up and break down job sites including staging areas and equipment placement
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout project duration
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Operate basic hand tools and light equipment under supervision
- Support environmental crews with material handling and containment procedures
- Perform general cleaning and decontamination tasks as directed
- Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance
- Report safety concerns or equipment issues to supervisors immediately
- Follow all company policies and maintain professional conduct on client sites
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation – required
- High school diploma or equivalent – preferred
- OSHA-10 Certification – preferred
- Previous experience in construction, demolition, or manual labor – preferred
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform strenuous manual tasks
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and challenging environments
- Ability to work in confined spaces and wear respiratory protection when required
- Willingness to travel to jobsites throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Team-oriented with positive attitude and good communication skills
- Flexibility to work on various project types and adapt to changing priorities
